Spilman is a friendly, caring family church with many ministries in our community. You will find a welcoming congregation where you will feel at home. If you are seeking a place to exercise your gifts and talents, Spilman has opportunities for you!
We have Sunday School classes for all ages and interests. The JOY group for Seniors meets monthly and always has interesting programs or travels. Spilman is connected with many community ministries, including The Gate, The Refuge, Erasing the Lines, ICOR, the Kinston Association of Congregations (AOC), Mary’s Kitchen, The Homeless Shelter and others. Individual members are involved in many areas of community life, such as volunteer work at Lenoir Memorial Hospital and Exetension Community Association.
Times & Location
Our Sunday morning worship services are held at 10:30am and generally last about an hour. We offer Sunday School for all ages from 9:15am-10:15am and a Fellowship and Bible Study each Wednesday from 6:15pm-7:15pm.

We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Our programs reflect some aspects of both associations.
What style of music will I find at Spilman
Spilman offers blended services, leaning toward the more traditional type of music. However, we may feature contemporary worship and praise, Southern Gospel, Bluegrass and folk music from time-to-time. Spilman has always been known for the quality of its music program.
The Adult Worship Choir
Presents seasonal music as well as anthems during worship service. Our choir is under the direction of Rev. Daniel Cromer, Pastor. The choir rehearses Wednesday nights at 7:15. The Worship team strives to select music designed to reinforce the weekly sermon topic.
Diaconate
As a Deacon of Spilman he/she serves as a supporting branch for the Pastor through our Deacon Ministry. We currently have 7 female and 2 male Deacons. Each have been assigned families to visit at all times when necessary.
Church Property
The church property holdings are overseen by a Trustee Board.
Church Staff
Our staff consists of an Administrative Assistant, Financial Assistant and Pastor.
